300FOR300

Investor deck design, content refinement, visual storytelling, and stakeholder presentation polish for a youth-focused nonprofit.

The challenge

300FOR300 had the information, impact data, programs, and mission clearly gathered, but the deck needed to be elevated into a more polished, professional, and emotionally engaging presentation for investors and stakeholders.

Let’s talk about this project

300FOR300 is a nonprofit founded by Chastity Dotson with a mission to empower 300 middle school girls of color to dream their biggest dreams while writing and sharing their unique stories. The organization provides a safe “third space” outside of school and home, offering creative writing instruction, artistic expression, mentorship, health and wellness coaching, and a community centered around joy.

The investor deck needed to communicate the organization’s mission, its “why,” its programs, impact data, team, sponsors, and future vision in a way that felt vibrant, professional, and easy for stakeholders to understand.

What was our approach?

We refined the deck into a polished, investor-ready presentation while preserving the heart, color, and energy of the 300FOR300 brand.

  • Structure: Organized the content so the story flowed clearly from mission and need through programs, impact, vision, team, and sponsors.
  • Clarity: Improved the hierarchy of information so key points, statistics, and program details were easier to understand quickly.
  • Emotion: Balanced impact data with human storytelling so the deck felt credible, moving, and mission-led.
  • Representation: Created custom icons reflecting African American girls to make key statistics feel more personal, relevant, and aligned with the community 300FOR300 serves.
  • Sensitivity: Used real imagery in the actual investor deck, while using AI-generated representative characters for the public case study to protect the identities of the young women and girls connected to the organization.
  • Polish: Elevated the visual presentation so it felt more refined, intentional, and appropriate for investors, sponsors, and stakeholders.

Designing for Mission, Impact, and Protection

This project needed more than a clean presentation. It needed a thoughtful visual system that could communicate sensitive, meaningful work with dignity and care.

  • Mission: Highlighted 300FOR300’s commitment to helping girls express themselves, heal, thrive, and share their stories.
  • Programs: Presented initiatives such as Make It Art, Youth Leadership, T.H.R.I.V.E., and When the Light Shines Through in a clearer and more engaging way.
  • Impact: Reworked key data points around communication, written expression, oral expression, and parent/guardian relationships so they were easier to scan and understand.
  • Visual Language: Developed custom icons and graphic elements that felt more culturally relevant and connected to the young people represented in the work.
  • Privacy: Adapted the public case study visuals using AI-generated representative characters instead of identifiable real images, helping tell the story while protecting privacy.

Let’s talk visuals

The visual direction needed to feel joyful, expressive, youthful, and full of life while still being polished enough for investor and stakeholder audiences.

  • Bright, vibrant colors helped reflect the energy, optimism, and creative spirit of the organization.
  • Large typography and bold section layouts gave the deck a confident, campaign-like feel.
  • Real photography helped the original deck feel personal, grounded, and emotionally connected.
  • Custom statistic icons were designed to reflect African American girls, adding a more intentional and culturally relevant layer to the impact data.
  • For the public-facing case study, AI-generated representative characters were used instead of identifiable real images to protect the privacy of the girls and young women involved.
  • Data slides were cleaned up to make impact points more digestible and visually engaging.
  • The overall design helped translate sensitive, meaningful work into a professional presentation that still felt warm, creative, and mission-driven.
